To My Beloved Family and Friends,
Matthew 16:26 “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”
No gain in the world will adequately compensate for a lost soul. We live to get, to win, to grasp, to hold what we call wealth, earthly valuables – houses, land, jewels, money, fame.
Is that really great gain? How does it stand related to man’s real soul – life? The soul is really the life, the self, and it is eternal. Then it is seen to belong only to the body, which man has for a while, and goes with his body back to the dust.
What good would it do to make all the money, to have all the fame and fortune, then die, leave it all behind, and spend eternity empty-handed? To lose the soul, therefore, is to miss the purpose for which one has been created. We are called to represent the interest of our King. If we miss that, we miss everything.
Have a blessed week,
